Rev. Frances Virgil Mills - a woman of God - Saved by Grace, Called by God, Anointed by the Holy Spirit and Appointed by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was called to Teach and Preach the Good News of the Gospel.
Rev. Mills is a native of Waycross, Ga. and a product of the Waycross public school system. Rev. Mills accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at an early age at Big Bethel Freewill Baptist Church in Waycross, Georgia.. As an adult, she joined and rededicated her life to the Lord in 1973 at The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church where she served faithfully until hearing the Lord call her into Ministry. She acknowledged her call to ministry in April 1997, was licensed to preach the Gospel in January 1998 and was officially ordained in November 1999 – all under the pastorate of Dr. William E. Flippin, Sr. at The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga. In 2004 Pastor Mills became the Pastor and Founder of “Tabernacle of Faith Christian Church” located at 2490 Columbia Drive in Decatur, Ga. Tabernacle of Faith began as a Women’s Bible Study class that was held in Pastor Mills’ home in April 2004. The Bible Study classes were entitled “Sister-2-Sister”. The class soon grew too large for the home and was moved to Cedar Grove High School where classes were held on Saturday evenings in the school Cafeteria. On September 14, 2005, she formally opened the doors of her newly organized “Church”.
Under her leadership, Tabernacle of Faith Christian Church has grown to a membership of 129 members. Many ministries have been established- Deacons Ministry comprised of both Men and Women Deacons, Finance Ministry, Trustees Ministry, Adult Choir, Youth–4-Christ Teen Choir, Babes In Christ Children’s Choir, Adult and Children’s Ushers Ministries, Missions Ministry, Mass Media Ministry, a Men’s Bible Study Ministry, a Jail and Prison Ministry, a Saturday Evening Women’s Bible Study Ministry, Drama Ministry, and a Youth and Adult Dance Ministry.
Rev. Mills is committed to serving God’s people in every walk of life and thus she is very active in the Metro Atlanta Community. She has been active in the Mount Calvary Missionary& Education Baptist Association for more than 20 years and currently serves as 1st Vice Moderator of the Association; she serves as a Chaplain for the Dekalb County Police Department. In the Corporate world she is a Human Resources Professional and is currently the Senior Vice President & Director of Human Resources for Reliance Trust Company. She is a Board member of Georgia Bankers Association’s Human Resources Committee; she is a member of the Society For Human Resources Professionals (SHRM), she serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the organization – Women In Pensions, Inc. (WIPS) and she does volunteer work each year serving as a Motivational Speaker at Career Day Programs for the youth in local Middle Schools and High Schools.
Rev. Mills is married to Bro. Ervin E. Mills and they will celebrate 45 years of marriage in July of this year. They have 2 children - Arriana Mills Daniel and Ervin Allen Curtis Mills and they are the proud grandparents of 6 – Keyona, Ervin Allen Curtis,II, Jazmin, Christopher, Sydney and Keyshon.
